Uses / Indications: Acetyl cysteine is used for the treatment of liver toxicity caused by paracetamol overdose. It is also used to thin and loosen the mucus in the airway due to certain lung diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia) and for the relief of dry eye syndromes associated with deficient tear secretion. It acts as mucolytic (loosen mucus in airways) when used in oral preparations while when used as injection it treats paracetamol overdose toxicity.

Pregnancy interaction:
• Mucosys 600mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

• Do not start or continue the acetyl cysteine if you are allergic to acetyl cysteine. Consult your doctor before starting acetyl cysteine if you have lung diseases like asthma and bronchospasm.

How to use:
• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mucosys 600mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
